The Brief
This project is a fast-paced documentary-style analysis of the rise and fall of WeWork, designed to make complex financial and business concepts feel urgent, visual, and cinematic. Rather than presenting the collapse as a sudden failure, the video frames it as an inevitable outcome of misaligned incentives, unchecked growth, and creative accounting.
The Challenge
The edit adopts a modern, high-intensity docu-style aesthetic popularized in digital business storytelling. Kinetic typography plays a central role, with key ideas and phrases appearing in sync with narration to reinforce the core thesis and keep intellectual momentum high. Financial terms are treated with emotional weight, ensuring clarity without slowing the pace.
The Solution
Visually, the piece relies on layered collage techniques. Archival photos, headlines, and logos are composited with textured backgrounds, subtle parallax motion, and film grain to create depth and movement from otherwise static assets. Abstract data is translated into motion graphics, where charts and lines animate dynamically to illustrate the widening gap between valuation, growth, and underlying reality.
The Outcome
The pacing is relentless. Visuals shift almost constantly, supported by dense sound design that gives each transition physical presence through clicks, slides, and tonal hits.
